I had the pleasure of meeting C.L. Marshall while selling for a poultry company out of Northeast Georgia. He lives in the Pocomoke, MD area and works for a foodservice distributor out of Salisbury, MD. C.L. has to be one of the best sportsmen and outdoorsmen that I have ever met in my travels. He put this cook book together which is a product of several generations who have lived, fished and hunted on the Delmarva Peninsula. His recipes are simple, but tasty. A few of their titles are...”Parker’s crab delight”, “Estelle’s crab imperial”, “Down home crab cakes”, “Gargathy Inlet stuffed flounder”, “Pot roasted rabbit”, “Mr. Hanes pheasant”, “Bill Hall’s grilled venison”. These are just a few of the recipes found in the 52 pages of the book.
A little story about C.L....We were trout fishing with C.L. on the Chesapeake late one fall afternoon about three years ago. I had never fished this area of the bay. We caught our limit and it had gotten dark on us. C.L. pulled anchor, cranked the Honda motor, and made a hasty exit to the dock in the dark. As we were quickly(Honda wide open) passing the channel markers to our port side, I yelled back at C.L. over the center console,” You know where all the channel markers are?” His reply,”Most Of Them!.” Gave me that “warm fuzzy”.
